Installing a home in Volusia County: what to know
- Permits: Setup permits go through the Volusia County building department (or your city, inside city limits). We file the permit and schedule inspections.
- Wind zone: Volusia County is HUD Wind Zone II (100 mph basic wind speed). Every home we sell for Volusia is built and anchored for that zone.
- Zoning: Many suburban subdivisions here don't allow manufactured homes. Rural and agricultural zoning is usually more flexible, and modular may work where manufactured doesn't.
- Flood zones: Lots near the coast, rivers and lakes may be in a FEMA flood zone and need the home raised. We check your lot before quoting.
- Well and septic: Outside city limits, many lots use a private well and septic system. We include them in your quote when needed.
