Installing a home in Pinellas County: what to know
- Permits: Setup permits go through Pinellas County Building Services (or your city). We file the permit and schedule inspections.
- Wind zone: Pinellas County is HUD Wind Zone III (110 mph basic wind speed). Every home we sell for Pinellas is built and anchored for that zone. Fewer models are built for Zone III, so we'll show you the ones that qualify.
- Wind Zone III: Pinellas is HUD Wind Zone III — homes must be built for higher wind loads, which limits which models qualify and can raise the price. We'll show you Zone III-rated models.
- Replacement homes: Swapping an older home for a new one is common. Setbacks, flood elevation and park rules decide what fits.
- Flood zones: Much of coastal Pinellas is in FEMA flood zones; elevation requirements can be significant.
- 24 cities: Many Pinellas cities issue their own permits.
